Started with one truck and a borrowed trailer
In 2017, Marcus Bell was managing routes for a national waste company and kept seeing the same problem. Customers waited days for a quote, got surprise fees on the invoice, and had no idea where their stuff actually went. He figured a local crew could do better.
The first JunkJet truck ran out of a rented yard off Riverfront Blvd. The rules were simple from day one: quote a flat rate before touching anything, arrive inside the window you promised, and sort every load so usable items find new homes. People noticed. The second truck came in month eight, and the fleet has grown every year since.
Today twelve trucks cover the metro, and our sorting yard diverts 65 percent of collected material away from the landfill. Still locally owned, still answering our own phones.
